About me
For the past four years, I have led the XD effort to establish Digital Human Interface Guidelines (DHIG) — a unified design system which provides building blocks for web and digital experiences that enable customers to discover and engage with Autodesk. Its goal is to build better faster while promoting consistency, accessibility, and brand alignment.
My work has been driven by collaboration and community. I have established meaningful partnerships with Autodesk’s community of experts in brand, UX/UI, research, content strategy, engineering, and product management. The result is a system that provides design resources that unite contributors to the customer experience through a shared process, toolset, and vision.
I am committed to digital equity, designing experiences that are approachable, intuitive, and inclusive. My team made Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) compliance a priority and principle of the design system. Our work to promote best practices for accessibility has made a positive impact on how designers and engineers approach their work at Autodesk.
In 2022, I joined a cross-functional panel, including colleagues from legal and engineering, to present A New Day for Web Accessibility at TechX, Autodesk’s internal developer conference.
Prior to Autodesk, I worked alongside my husband and partner in leading the design studio, Sight8. From comprehensive design systems to engaging user experiences, we provided creative direction and user experience design to aspiring start-ups, established enterprises, and not-for-profits. Our clients have included innovators across a range of business sectors including technology, health, financial services, education, and entertainment.
Sight8 served as vendor of record for the Sun Microsystems Web Experience Team for more than a decade, providing front-line design support for numerous successful programs and product launches. We worked to develop, improve, and enhance the visual design and user experience of sun.com and delivered tools to help maintain the Sun brand across varying touch-points, in multiple languages worldwide.
Each design challenge has provided an opportunity to improve through continuous experimentation, testing, feedback, and iteration. I look forward to what’s next.
